Donut County Guide: How to beat the story – Part 1

A blog post written by Yui0323 on Blue Tree Gaming detailing how to beat each level. The article itself is very image heavy and features simple and instructive sentences that are easy to follow for beginner level Japanese speakers. This post is split into multiple parts, this part covers the introduction and first 6 levels. The rest is covered in subsequent blog posts.

BKは、Donut Countyという街のドーナツ屋で働いている。ところが、今日のBKが配達しているのは、ドーナツの真ん中の穴。ドーナツを注文した人の物や家やペットまで穴に放り込んでいくゲームです

ゲームはミラの家から始まる。ミラはBKとメッセージでやりとりしている。メッセージのやりとりが終わったのち、カーテンを開け、窓を開けて外に出る。穴に文字や物、動物まで全部穴に入れていく。

Translation

BK is working at a donut shop in a city called Donut County. However, what BK is delivering today is the hole in the middle of the donuts. This is a game where you’ll be throwing the belongings, homes and pets of people who have ordered donuts into holes.

The game starts in Mira’s house. Mira and BK are exchanging messages. After the message exchange finishes, the curtains open, the window opens and you go outside. Go and put all the letters, objects and animals in the hole.

ドーナツショップにて、BKとミラがメッセージのやりとりをする。このメッセージのやりとりの後、６週間後の過去の話になる。ミラとBKは穴の中の世界に閉じ込められていた。もちろん周りの住人から建物まで全部穴の中。その後、ある住宅が映し出される。

Translation

BK and Mira are exchanging messages at the donut shop. After the message exchange the story changes to a flashforward 6 weeks later. Mira and BK have been trapped in a world within the hole. Of course, everything from the residents to the buildings are all in the hole. Next, each of the residents are described.

穴の中にどんどん物や生き物を入れていく。色々なものを中に入れていくと、気球に乗った動物がいる。周りにあったストーブを穴に入れると熱気を放つ。気球の下に穴を移動すると、気球が熱で飛行する。家も岩も全ての飲み込む。

Translation

Gradually put all of the objects and creatures into the hole. As you put various things into the hole the animals will ride in the hot air balloon. If you put the nearby stove in the hole it will emit hot air. Then if you move the hole under the hot air balloon it will ascend in the heat. Swallow up all the houses and rocks.

このエリアが終わると新たなエリアではちょっと頭を使う必要があるところが出てきます。穴に全てのもを入れることでこのエリアはクリアできる。だから、この鶏３びきを地面に下ろす必要がある。看板に登る鶏、ブランコに座る鶏、岩場に座る鶏。

ここでは黒い蛇を使う。この蛇を穴に飲み込むとこのような蛇の尻尾の棒ができる。まずは、看板にいる鶏から、看板は、ネジで固定されているので、看板を蛇の尻尾で、看板を回していくと回していくとネジが取れて、看板が壊れる。

次にブランコに座る鶏は、ブランコを押して１回転させると、ブランコが壊れる。最後に、岩場に座る鶏はボタンに近づくとクラクションにびっくりして降りていくる。すると周りの建物、機会が一気に壊れる。これを全部穴に入れていく。

Translation

When this area is finished the new areas have sections where you will need to use your head. You can clear these by putting all of the objects in the hole. Therefore, you will need to get the 3 chickens down to the ground. The one on the sign, the one sat on the swing and the one on the rocks.

Here we’ll use the black snake. When swallowed this snake’s tail will act like a stick. Firstly, start from the chicken on the sign. The sign is secured by a screw so when you use the snake’s tail as a stick and spin the sign it will undo the screw and break it.

Next is the chicken sat on the swing. If you push the swing for 1 rotation it will break the swing. Lastly, if you approach the button it will set of a klaxon, scaring the chicken on the rocks and causing it to fall. This causes the buildings and mechanism to spontaneously break. With that, get everything into the hole.

このエリアでは水と青の鳥を穴に入れる方法がちょっと変わってる。まず、手前の犬と魚を穴に入れて行く。魚と犬を穴に入れたのち、水がある所に水を取りに行き、青い鳥に水を与える。全ての水がなくなるまで青い鳥に水を与える。その後、周りの物を全て穴に入れる。

Translation

In this area, the methods to get the water and the blue bird into the hole are a little different. Firstly, get the dog and the fish into the hole. After you’ve gotten the fish and the dog, go to the spot with the water and give it to the blue bird. Give the water to the blue bird until all of the water has gone. Afterwards, put all of the surrounding objects in the hole.

まず岩や、草を穴に入れて穴を大きくする。とうもろこしを穴に入れる。全部とうもろこしを穴に入れたら、次は焚き火を穴に入れてとうもろこしを作る。その後全部のものを穴に入れる。

Translation

Firstly, put rocks and grass into the hole in order to make the hole bigger. Get the corn into the hole. Once all the corn is in the hole, put the campfire in the hole to make popcorn. Following this, get all of the objects into the hole.

このエリアはうさぎがめちゃくちゃいるエリア。まずブロックや草などを穴に入れる。このにんじんを穴にハマらせる必要がある。

柵にいたうさぎと岩にいたうさぎを誘き寄せて、にんじんを食べさせてから、２匹を穴に落とす穴に落とした２匹のうさぎは穴の中で求愛行動に出る。穴を大きくして他の岩にいるうさぎカップルも穴に入れる。

このカップルうさぎを穴に入れると、うさぎも子供が大量に産まれた後、ニッキーの住んでいる建物が壊れる。あとは全部を穴に入れて行くだけ。

Translation

In this area there are a lot of rabbits. Firstly put blocks and grass into the hole. You’ll then need to get the carrots stuck in the hole.

Lure the rabbit in the fence and the rabbit on the rocks and let them eat the carrots. When they fall into the hole the two rabbits will court each other. Make the hole bigger and couple up the other rabbits on the rocks inside the hole.

When this couple of rabbits are put in the hole they will also birth a large number of children, breaking the house Nicky is living in. Afterwards, you just need to put everything in the hole.

このエリアは焚き火がポイント。焚き火が穴に入るまで穴を広げていく。焚き火を穴に入れたら、穴の中が燃え始める。カラスが落とした炭火を穴に入れると、炎が立ち上がる。

この燃え上がる炎を利用して木々を燃え上がらせる。落ちた木の実を穴に入れて、穴を大きくして、他のものも全部穴に入れる。今回はここまで！次回【モーセル】からやっていきます。

Translation

This area is focused on the campfires. Widen the hole until you can get the campfire in it. Once you have the campfire in the hole it will start to burn. By getting the coal dropped by the crows into the hole the flames will grow higher.

Using the roaring flames set the trees ablaze. Put the fruit that falls from the trees into the hole in order to make it bigger, then put in all the other objects. That’s all for this time. Next time we’ll pick up from “Morsel”.

Unfortunately the article and website for this translation was removed shortly after being found seemingly due to copyrighting (Blue Tree Gaming being similar to Blue Tree games) so part 2 is unavailable, this was a real shame as I enjoyed the layout and style of this guide.
